Azusa Pacific University Athletics

A graduate of Azusa College in 1962, Tom Nelson returned to his alma mater in 1964 to assist in the physical education department and has become an integral part of the Cougar athletic program.

Nelson, in addition to serving as assistant basketball coach, is also the Cougar head baseball coach.

He earned his master's degree from Pasadena College.

As an athlete, Nelson set several records in basketball, baseball, and football in his four years at Azusa College and was voted Athlete of the Year in 1960-61 and 1961-62.
