Jim Wilson

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Jim Wilson returns to the Cougar basketball staff for the third time after taking leaves from coaching for a tour with the Athletes in Action basketball team and pursing a teaching career.

The popular one-time all-American and member of the Cougar basketball Hall of Fame, coached under Hamlow in 1973-74 when the team won the NAIA District 3 championship and gained a trip to Kansas City for the 32-team NAIA national tournament.

During his four-year career with the Cougars Wilson was known for his slick guard play, totaling 956 assists to set an NAIA record (since broken).  He had 339 in his junior season and 24 in one game (also records since topped).  He holds the Cougar record for games played and twice was an all-American honorable mention selection.
