Garrett O’Hara is in his second season with Bill Odell at Azusa Pacific. Ohara coaches Azusa Pacific‘s junior varsity team and guided the Cougars to a 13-12 record last year.
OHara begin his coaching career at his alma mater, Westmont College, where he served as a graduate assistant for current Los Angeles Laker assistant coach Chet Kammerer. From there, Ohara spent two years as a girls’ basketball coach in Northern California, coaching two seasons at San Ramon Valley Christian Academy, doubling one of those years as an assistant at San Ramon High in Danville, Calif.
A 1988 graduate of Westmont with a degree in physical education and a minor in biology, Garrett prepped at Flintridge Prep in La Canada, Calif., where he was a four-your starter and 2-time All-CIF honoree. He graduated as the school’s all-time leading scorer and career leader in assists.
Ohara is currently working on his master’s in education with an emphasis in physical education at Azusa Pacific.
He is single and resides in Glendora Calif.
