After a highly successful basketball career at Azusa Pacific (1965-69), Chuck Boswell joined the Cougar athletic staff as an assistant to Hamlow in 1969. He currently serves as the junior varsity coach and for the past two years has served as the tennis head coach as well.
During his four-year playing career, the slender left-hander scored 2,090 points, leading the team in scoring during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. His career scoring mark help up until 1970 when Denis Dickens scored 825 points to finish with 2,199 points. But Boswell still holds the all-time free throw and rebound records with totals of 644 and 1,373, respectively. He is the only Cougar to ever lead the team three years in points, free throws, and rebounds.
An NAIA all-America honorable mention selection in his senior year, Boswell received his bachelor's degree in social science in June, 1969. He is continuing his studies at Pasadena College in the field of counseling and guidance.
