A member of the Cougar Hall of Fame, Art Jenkins joins the athletic staff as an assistant to Hamlow.
Jenkins, who played just two seasons under Hamlow (1964-66), was known for his slick guard play and totaled 359 assists, second best in Cougar history. He also managed 872 points in 51 games for a 17.1 average. He was captain and MVP two years, made tournament teams at Azusa and Pasadena, and was an honorable mention pick on the NAIA All-District 3 team for 1965-66.
A 1959 graduate of Monrovia High, Jenkins played four years of basketball with a 10-point average. He attended Citrus JC one semester and was a starting guard and team captain. He played the following season at Northern Arizona University, averaging 13 points a game. He then finished at Azusa Pacific, graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He later received his teaching credential.
Currently he is working for his master's degree and hopes to work with the educationally and emotionally handicapped.
