THIS YEAR: An outstanding athlete, senior Caleb Gervin is one of the top point guards in the NAIA ... Named Street & Smith's Preseason All-American … Is a strong GSAC Player of the Year candidate ... Shoots well from the perimeter but has good quickness and can break defenses down on the drive … Rated a strong defensive player … Teams with fellow senior Jeff Staniland to form one of the best and most experienced backcourts in the NAIA. 

2002: Earned All-GSAC first team recognition for the second straight year after leading a balanced Cougar offense with a team-high 12.8 points and 3.2 assists … Named NAIA All-Tournament by averaging 16 points and shooting over 54% from the floor in 4 NAIA championship tournament games in which he led the Cougars to their third NAIA Final Four Appearance in the past 5 years … Registered 4 20-point games, including 22 vs. Oklahoma Baptist in the NAIA semifinals … Averaged 21.5 points in 2 games at the Felix Event Center vs. eventual NAIA quarterfinalist Westmont … Started the season slow, shooting just 31% from the floor through the first 8 games and thus lost his starting spot … Eventually, returned to the line-up and finished the season strong, averaging 16 points over the final 17 games. 

2001: Earned All-GSAC first team recognition after averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 38 games (started 33, including the final 28 in a row) … Recorded season highs of 32 points (vs. Albertson), 10 rebounds (vs. Hope International), 7 assists (4 times) and 5 steals (vs. Concordia) … Led the team in scoring and assists … Was the Cougars' top scorer in 9 games, including 23 vs. Oklahoma City in the second round of the NAIA Tourney … Put together a 7-game stretch in which he averaged 20.3 points and 4.6 assists. 

LOUISVILLE: Came off the bench for Denny Crum at the University of Louisville ... appeared in 20 games ... averaged 2.6 points, shooting 47% from the floor (20-for-42) ... Chose Louisville after considering Florida State, Arizona State, USC, and Pepperdine. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-time all-state, All-CIF first team, All-Desert Valley League MVP and All-Los Angeles Times during his 4-year career at Cathedral City High … Set school records with 2,647 total points, 227 three-point field goals, and 353 steals ... Has the fourth highest point total all-time in the CIF Southern Section behind Tracy Murray, Cameron Murray, and Leon Wood ... Averaged 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 4.8 steals as a senior ... Shot 52% from the field, including nailing 61 three-pointers, and 73% from the free throw line ... Led Cathedral City to a 3-year conference mark of 27-3 ... As a junior, led the Lions to the CIF AA championship, dropping 31 points in the championship. 

PERSONAL: Born October 3, 1980, in Palm Springs, Calif., to Diane Gervin (teacher's assistant) ... Has 3 older sisters ... Nephew of the Iceman, George Gervin (San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls), who was chosen as one of the top 50 NBA players of all time ... Cousin Gee Gervin played at the University of Houston ...
