THIS YEAR: Sophomore defensive back Tommy Tucay begins his first season with the Azusa Pacific football program after 1 season at California Lutheran University ... Will compete for a starting role in the Cougar secondary.

CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN: Appeared in and started all 8 games he play for the Kingsmen during his 2025 freshman season ... Recorded 22 tackles (15 solo), including 2.5 tackles for loss for 5 yards ... Also had 3 pass breakups for the 6-4 Kingsmen ... In his collegiate debut, posted a season-high 5 tackles in the season-opener at Pacific Lutheran while registering a tackle for loss.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Ruben S. Ayala High in Chino Hills, Calif. ... Played 2 varsity seasons as a defensive back while serving as team captain during his 2023 senior season ... Earned All-Mountain West League first-team honors as a senior after leading both Ayala and the Mountain West League with 4 interceptions, including a pair that he returned for TDs ... Helped lead the Huskies to a 7-4 record and named All-Mountain West League second team as a 2023 junior while helping the Bulldogs win the Mountain West League championship and advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs ... Returned to the CIF Division 3 playoffs as a senior ... Finished his varsity career with 104 total tackles, including 51 solo stops, five interceptions, one forced fumble and two pass breakups while averaging 5.0 tackles per game ... Recorded 52 tackles in both his junior and senior seasons ... Also contributed offensively with 4 receptions for 12 yards during his junior campaign ... Lettered in wrestling as well, earning third-place finishes in both the Trinity League and Palomares League while qualifying for the CIF Championships.
