2015 (redshirt): Spent the season practicing with the team while attending classes at Azusa Pacific.

High School: Was a three-sport athlete at Central Valley Christian High School, competing in football, soccer, and track & field... Lettered in soccer and track & field for one year each... In football, played tight end for two years on varsity... Helped the team to an 11-3 finish as a junior and was named to the all-conference team... As a senior, led the Cavaliers to a 13-2 record overall and was named to the all-conference team.

Personal: Born Samuel Vander Dussen on Feb. 11, 1997 in Loma Linda, Calif. ... Parents are Thomas (dairy farmer) and Laura (nurse) Vander Dussen... Has two brothers, Brady and Jack... Is majoring in systems engineering... Wants to be a biomedical engineer or biochemist after time at Azusa Pacific... Enjoys surfing.
