THIS YEAR:  An exciting newcomer, freshman Salieu Cessay is a promising quarterback who will likely redshirt the year as he adjusts to the college game … Is a true dual-threat QB with a good arm and excellent running skills … Should be a dynamic playmaker in the years to come.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played two years of varsity football for head coach Jordan Brusig at Aquinas High in San Bernardino, Calif. … As a 2017 senior, helped lead the Falcons to a 14-1 record, resulting in an Ambassador League title, and a CIF Southern Section championship, with an appearance in the CIF Division 2A State Football Championship Bowl regional game … Completed 112-of-193 passes for 2,113 yards and 26 TDs … Also tried his hand at defense and recorded 12 total tackles in four games as cornerback … As a 2016 junior, guided the Falcons to an 11-3 overall record and the CIF Southern Section championship … In the title game, a 64-63 overtime win over Lawndale Leuzinger, completed 19 of 31 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for two other touchdowns.… Appeared in nine games, completing 64-of-111 passes for 1146 yards and 16 TDs … Played defense in seven games, totaling 13 tackles … In Germany played for the Lübeck Cougars U19 program.
