THIS YEAR:  The reliable Ray Riley is a third-year running back who gives the Cougars quality depth … A rough-and-rugged type of runner with deceptive speed … Known for his perseverance and never-say-die attitude … Figures in a valuable reserve role at the outset of the season.

2017 (sophomore):  Appeared in nine of the Cougars’ 11 games as a 2017 sophomore, carrying  the ball 12 times for 97 yards (8.1 avg.) and one TD … Had a 13-yard TD run in the Cougars’ 61-0 victory over Simon Fraser.

2016 (freshman):  As a 2016 redshirt freshman, came off the bench in nine of the Cougars’ 12 games … Rushed for 97 yards on 22 carries (4.4 avg.) … Had 57 yards on 11 carries in a victory over Simon Fraser.

2015 (redshirt): Spent the year practicing with the team while attending classes. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in football and track & field at Chaparral High in Temecula, Calif. ... Played running back and outside linebacker for the Pumas … Coached by Ryan Tukua ... Was a team captain as a senior whenhe rushed for 1,210 yards on 206 carries (5.6 avg.), tallying 16 TDs … Opened the season with a four-TD effort against Victor Valley High … Finished the season with at least 10 rushing yards and a TD in his final five games … In a season-finale 34-20 win over Murrieta Mesa High, ran for a career-high 213 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries ... Named offensive team MVP and first team all-valley … As a 2013 junior, became the Pumas’ primary running back, taking 170 carries for 912 yards and nine TDs … Against Chino Hills High, ran 29 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns … Saw limited action on varsity as a sophomore, carrying the ball twice for 25 yards … Had two sacks and a forced fumble against Charter Oak High.
