Biography

2018 (sophomore):  GNAC second team DB… Played in all 12 games… second on team with three interceptions… had season-high 11 tackles, including 0.5 sacks against Central Washington on Oct. 6… led secondary with 66 tackles for the season

2017 (freshman):  One of the Cougars’ top new recruits, appeared in all 11 games, starting one, as a 2017 true freshman, recording 17 tackles (12 solo) … First collegiate pick was at the goal line in the Cougars’ 48-17 victory at home over Western Oregon … Made his first collegiate start in the Cougars’ fourth game of the season, a record-setting 83-7 victory over Simon Fraser … Had a season-high three tackles in three different games.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Enjoyed a three-year varsity career as a two-way standout for Mater Dei Catholic High in Chula Vista, Calif., where he led the Crusaders to a combined 35-8 record which included a 26-game winning streak and a pair of CIF crowns … Played in 34 games in his varsity career, recording career numbers of 174 tackles and 71 receptions … Was a three-time all-league selection, twice as a defensive back and once as a wide receiver … Also earned All-CIF San Diego Section second-team honors as a 2016 senior when helped lead the Crusaders to a 13-1 record and the CIF championship … Played in all 14 games in 2016 and was third on the team with 71 tackles … Also had one interception … On offense, was second on the team with 32 receptions for 448 yards and five TDs … Was the Crusaders lone punt returner, tallying 57 returns and collecting 314 yards (5.5 avg.) … Had a season-high seven catches for 74 yards with a TD in a 34-7 victory over Otay Ranch High … Had two receptions for two TDs in a 41-6 win over Castle Rock … Named San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic for managing a 3.71 GPA … As a 2015 junior, led the Crusaders to a 14-1 record and the CIF and CIF state bowl titles … Played in 12 games and tallied 49 tackles (23 solo), three tackles for loss, three interceptions, 16 receptions for 420 yards (26.3 avg.), returned 17 punts for 152 yards (8.9 avg.) and overall scored four TDs (two receiving, one punt return and one kickoff return) … Had a season-high five catches for 120 yards in an early-season loss to El Capitan High, the Crusaders’ only setback of the season … Best outing came in a 24-12 victory over Castle Park High in which he record a season-high eight tackles, including one for loss, to go along with a season-high three pass deflections … In that same game also had two receptions for 54 yards and two TDs … As a 2014 sophomore, appeared in 12 games for the 7-6 Crusaders, who won five of their final seven games to advance the CIF title game … Finished with 23 receptions for 527 yards (22.9 avg.), 54 tackles, three for loss, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a sack … Scored two TDs as a receiver Played for head coach John Joyner.
