THIS YEAR: Senior Paul Silva has quietly teamed with fellow seniors Jon Miller and Ryan Allen to give Azusa Pacific an experienced and talented set of receivers … Not flashy but is noted for his good hands and well-run patterns … Termed gritty and tough. 

2003: Though the numbers may not indicate it, enjoyed a breakthrough junior season in which he emerged as one of the Cougars' often-played receivers … Appeared in 8 games off the bench … His only reception of the season was a 4-yard grab vs. Cal Lutheran … Had 5 tackles on special teams. 

2002: Enjoyed his first full season of live action on the college level, appearing in 6 games as a 2002 sophomore, both on special teams and as a back-up wide receiver … Collected 3 receptions for 30 yards, including 2 for 22 yards in the win over Whittier … Returned 1 punt for 31 yards, third longest by a Cougar on the season … Also recorded 3 tackles on special teams. 

2001: Did not appear in any of the Cougars' 9 games during the 2001 season. 

2000: Redshirted his first season at Azusa Pacific. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered for 4 seasons of varsity football at state powerhouse Lynden (Wash.) High, playing both wide receiver and defensive back … Completed his 4-year career sixth in all-time receiving yards at Lynden … As a 1999 senior was named All-Northwest League second team after leading the league in yards per catch (school-record 26.1 avg.), total receiving yards and TD receptions … As a 1998 junior was a key defender on the Lions' state semifinalist team … Also ran 2 seasons of track & field (sprints). 

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 15, 1981, in Bellingham, Wash. … Majoring in finance with a minor in business … Received the U.S. Marines Athletic Award in high school … Enjoys the theatre.
