THIS YEAR: One of Azusa Pacific’s most experienced players and the anchor of the Cougar defensive front, senior Ma’ake Muti has played in 31 games at nose guard for the Cougars … Strong and athletics … Difficult to move off the line … Could press for postseason conference honors.

2017 (junior):  As a 2017 junior appeared in all 11 games, starting eight, at nose guard … Was sixth on the team with 38 tackles (20 solo) which included five for loss … Also had four quarterback hurries … Twice had a career-high six tackles, including five solo in a season-opening win at West Texas A&M … In a season-finale 56-35 victory over No. 14-ranked Colorado Mesa, had four tackles, including one for loss, and forced a fumble

2016 (sophomore):  As a 2016 sophomore, appeared in ten of the Cougars’ 12 games, starting three … Tallied 23 tackles (13 solo) to go along with 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 quarterback sacks … Had two tackles, both for loss including a QB sack, in a win over Simon Fraser … Also had two tackles in the NCAA first round playoff game at Sioux Falls

2015 (freshman): Proved to be a valuable asset on the defensive line, appearing in all 10 games ... Contributed 22 tackles, three for loss, and 2.5 sacks as an interior lineman

2014 (redshirt): Practiced with the team while attending classes at Azusa Pacific.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-sport athlete at Leilehua High in Wahiawa, Hawaii ... Played defensive line for two years under head coach Nolan Tokuda ... Was team captain for one year... As a senior had a single-game best of 13 solo tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles vs. Kapolei High ... Named all-state honorable mention … Wrestled for a year on varsity under head coach Nalu Rickard in the 285-pound class ... Threw shot put in track & field for two years under head coach Dennis Bader ... Captained the track & field team for one year.
