2000: In his first season as a collegiate starter, put together an outstanding campaign, passing for 2,512 yards (fourth best in school history, third best 10-game total) while completing 58% of his passes … Was fourth in the NAIA in passing (251.2 avg.) and eighth in total offense (247.9 avg.) … Produced a trio of 300-yard passing games, his best being a 380-yard performance on a 21-for-32, 4 TD effort at Cal Lutheran, which included a game-winning 9-yard TD toss to Kevin Carlsen as time expired … Was 25-for-36 for 340 yards and 3 TDs in a 27-23 come-from-behind victory over La Verne … Endured a steep learning curve as evidenced by his 9 interceptions through the first 4 games, followed by just 4 picks in the final 6 games … Averaged 293 yards passing over the final 5 games while completing 58% of his passes … Had 5 TD passes over 50 yards … Had at least 1 TD pass in 9 of the 10 games, including the final 8 in a row … Minus his sack yards, had 162 rushing yards on 45 carries, thanks in part to a career- and game team-high 66 yards on 9 carries in the season opener at San Diego.
