THIS YEAR: Senior Luc Burke is coming off a breakthrough season in which he emerged as a high quality center … Fundamentally sound and does not make mistakes … Has quality experience and understands the Cougar system. 

2002: Appeared in all 9 games, starting 8, at center during his 2002 junior season, his first at Azusa Pacific … Was steady in his play, emerging as a leader along the line … Arrived as a guard but moved to center because of a need there and performed quite well. 

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played one season, his 1999 freshman campaign, at College of the Canyons, and was a member of a Cougar program that went 7-4 and advanced to the Southern California Bowl … Started 3 of the 11 games played. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity football as an offensive guard at Village Christian High in Sun Valley, Calif.… Earned All-Alpha League second team during his 1997 junior season … Missed part of his 1998 senior campaign with a broken arm suffered in sixth game of the season … As a sophomore played on a varsity squad that went 10-3 and advanced to the CIF semifinals … Played with current Cougar place kicker Matt Ryburn … Lettered 2 seasons in golf at Village Christian. 

PERSONAL: Born March 15, 1981, in Northridge, Calif., to Donald (Disney electrician) and Ruberta (hair stylist) Burke … Has 2 brothers (D.J. and Dustin) … Majoring sports psychology … Would like to get into coaching … Between his years at Canyon and Azusa Pacific, was an assistant coach (offensive line) for 2 seasons at his alma mater Village Christian … Engaged to be married in April of 2004.
