2001: Endured an injury-plagued 2001 junior season that forced him to miss half the season with a variety of ailments … Appeared in 3 straight games, his best string of the season, capping the run with a season-high 3 tackles vs. Southern Oregon in the next to last game of the campaign.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Tried football for the first time ever, playing 2 seasons for head coach Rex Chapell at Sierra College … Earned All-Bay Valley Conference first team honors during his freshman season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity basketball at Florin High in Sacramento, Calif., from which he graduated in 1996 … Was a 2-time All-Delta Conference pick, including his senior season when he was also selected all-city and was named team MVP … Signed with Whitworth College, then an NAIA school, in Spokane, Wash., where he played the 1998 season.
