THIS YEAR: One of the top centers in all of the NAIA, senior Justin Magallanez is truly an excellent blocker … Teams with fellow seniors Steve Mejia, Keith Ornelas and Cameron Nazemzaheh to give the Cougars a terrific front … Extremely strong and fundamentally sound … Will push for postseason honors. 

2005: An injury during 2-a-days slowed him out the gate during his 2005 junior season, his first at Azusa Pacific … Appeared in 7 of the Cougars’ 10 games, starting the final 5 of the season. 

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Was a 2-time All-Foothill Conference first team selection at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. … Named all-state as a 2004 sophomore … Was a 2-year starter on a Panther program that went 17-5 during his time. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 2-year standout along the offensive line at Damien High in La Verne, Calif., playing for head coach Mark Pasquarella … Played 2 seasons with current Cougar Nevin Flores … As a 2002 senior named All-CIF, All-Inland Valley and All-Sierra League first team while leading the Spartans to a 9-3 record and the league title … Named Gatorade All-American second team … Played in the 605 and Shine All-Star games … Also lettered in wrestling (heavyweight) and track & field (shot). 

PERSONAL: Son of Louie Magallanez and Lydia Martinez … Is also pursuing a minor in math … Wants to go into teaching and coaching … Likes to golf.
