Biography

THIS YEAR:  The experienced Jonah Wature has played in 20 games over the past three seasons with Azusa Pacific and comes into his senior year as a valuable veteran  battling for a starting berth.

2017 (junior):  Came off the bench in seven of the Cougars’ final eight games, providing quality depth for a talented offensive front.

2016 (sophomore):  As a 2016 sophomore, appeared in all 12 games, starting four at left guard during the mid-season.

2015 (freshman): Appeared in one game as a reserve offensive lineman.

2014 (redshirt): Practiced with the team while attending classes at Azusa Pacific.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-sport athlete at Iolani School, competing in wrestling, judo, and football ... Played three years of varsity football as a defensive lineman under head coach Wendell Look ... Helped the team to a 24-12 record in his three years and two State Championships.

PERSONAL: Born on Dec. 10, 1995, to James and Regina Wataw in Honolulu, Hawai`I ... Has four brothers (Jestus, Josiah, Jace, Joseph) ... Majoring in business management... Wants to start his own business after his time at Azusa Pacific ... Was an FCA Leader and participated in Big Brother program in high school ... Enjoys going to the beach and watching football.
