THIS YEAR: The hard-nosed Jimmy Travis is a do-everything offensive weapon who plays a prominent role in the Cougars' offensive scheme ... Combines speed and strength like no other Cougar receiver ... Can run away from a defender or bowl him over ... Has great speed and quality experience.

2001: Had his 2001 junior campaign cut short by shoulder and ankle injuries ... Appeared in 5 games, starting 4, including the first 3 of the season ... Best showing came in the season opener at San Diego when he had 4 catches for 63 yards and took the opening play of the season 25 yards on a rushing carry ... Also had 4 catches in the next 2 games vs. Pacific Lutheran and Whittier, including a 21-yard TD catch vs. Whittier, his first-ever collegiate TD ... Tallied a season-high 99 receiving yards in the Cougars' homecoming victory over Menlo, along with 1 touchdown, a 55-yard bomb from Luke Winslow that started the Cougars scoring attack.

2000: Opened the season as a back-up tailback but moved to wide receiver at midseason ... Became a valuable weapon ... Was the top receiver off the bench, tallying 26 grabs for 308 yards, third best overall, trailing only All-American Kevin Carlsen and Caleb Willis ... Had a career-high 5 grabs for 49 yards at Western Oregon ... Had 4 receptions in 3 other games ... Had a 43-yard catch vs. Humboldt State that set up a Cougar TD in a 35-32 victory ... On the ground, rushed for 38 yards on 18 carries ... On special teams, registered 4 tackles, including one for a 3-yard loss.

1999: As a 1999 freshman, appeared in 9 games, all as a reserve tailback ... Rushed for 25 yards on 6 carries and caught 2 passes for 23 yards ... Played in all 3 NAIA playoff games, and in fact picked up 11 rushing yards on 2 carries in an opening round victory over Doane ... Had 7 tackles (4 solo) on special teams.

TRACK & FIELD: Was a member of Azusa Pacific's nationally-honored track & field program ... Earned All-American status as a freshman after finishing sixth in the 400m hurdles (53.98) at the 2000 NAIA Outdoor Championships... Did not compete in 2001 and 2002.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-year varsity standout at Orange Glen High in Escondido, Calif. ... As a 1998 senior named North County Player of the Year after leading the Patriots to a 10-2 record ... Also played free safety and linebacker ... Lettered 4 seasons in track & field (hurdles and sprints).
