THIS YEAR: One of 8 Cougars entering his fourth season on the squad, senior Jeremy Tortora is a very experienced receiver, who should see plenty of time as either a starter or reserve … A possession receiver with better than average speed.

2000: As a 2000 junior, appeared in 9 games, starting 4 … Caught 3 passes for 19 yards all in the first 2 games of the season … Caught the Cougars' first pass attempt of the season, a 12-yard reception on the opening play at San Diego … Had 2 catches for 7 yards the next week at Southern Oregon.

1999: As a 1999 sophomore, appeared in all 12 games, starting 6 … Was a key member of an offense that produced a school-record 4,109 passing yards … Was sixth on the team with 17 receptions for 203 yards (11.9 avg.) … Caught at least 1 pass in the final 9 games of the season … Had a career-best 5 catches for 47 yards at Chapman … Caught his first only collegiate TD against Western Oregon, a 27-yard reception that proved to be the game-winner in a 24-20 decision.

1998: As a 1998 redshirt freshman, appeared in 4 games of the Cougars' national championship season, caught 1 pass for 9 yards (vs. La Verne).

SAN DIEGO: Redshirted the 1997 season at University of San Diego, attending classes and practicing with the team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Harbor High in Santa Cruz, Calif., where he lettered in football and track & field (sprinter) … As a 1996 senior, caught a school-record 67 passes for 1,1982 yards and 9 TDs … Led Pirates to their first-ever league title … Named All-CIF, all-county, all-league … As a 1995 junior, caught 12 passes for 278 yards … In track, set the school record in the decathlon.
