THIS YEAR: A developing returnee, senior Jeremy Huffman has been a pleasant surprise in the off-season and has emerged as one of the Cougars' top defensive linemen for this season … Aggressive and strong … Plays well against the run.

2000: Appeared in 9 games, starting 1 (vs. La Verne) … Tallied 8 tackles, including a season-high 3 (all solo) vs. Chapman, when he also assisted on a sack.

1999: Attended Azusa Pacific but was forced to redshirt the season because of a shoulder injury.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons at Ventura (Calif.) Community College as both a fullback and tight end … As a 1998 sophomore was a member of the Pirate team that went 9-2 (tied school record for victories) and won the Western State Bowl … His lone reception that season went for a TD … Named Western States Conference All-Academic … Was a lead blocker as a 1997 freshman, rushing for 310 yards with 1 reception.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 2-year varsity letter winner at Ventura High, playing for head coach Phil McCune … Played both sides of the line as well as tight end while serving as team co-captain as a 1996 senior … Also lettered in track & field (shot put).

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 20, 1978, to John and Olivia Huffman in Camarillo, Calif. … Has 1 brother (Brandon, 1998 Azusa Pacific graduate) and 2 sisters (Alyse and Natalie) … His dad played baseball at Life Bible College … Majoring in business administration … Would like to own a restaurant some day … Involved in FCA and has taken some summer mission trips.
