THIS YEAR: Junior Jacob Fisher teams with fellow backer Steve Holte and lineman Peder Moore as the leaders of a relatively young Cougar defense … Smart and hardnosed player with good range for his size … Figures to be among the team leaders in tackles.

2003: Played in 8 of the Cougars' 10 games, starting 5 … Missed 2 contests with an injury … Ranked among the team's 10 best with 31 tackles (19 solo) … Opened the season with 4 tackles and a fumble return of 19 yards vs. San Diego … Also had 6 tackles, including 2 for loss and a sack vs. Humboldt State … Recorded a season-best 8 tackles in the Cougars' first-ever victory over Southern Oregon … Collected his first-ever collegiate interception in the victory over Cal Lutheran.

2002: Appeared in 9 games as a 2002 redshirt freshman, starting the final 5 in a row … Was fifth on the team in tackles with 45, which included 2 for loss and a sack … Also had a pair of forced fumbles, including one at the Cougar 3-yard vs. Southern Oregon that eventually resulted in the Cougars' taking a 7-0 lead … Best game came at Cal Lutheran when he had a career-high 9 tackles, which included an 8-yard loss … Also had 8 tackles vs. Pacific Lutheran and Humboldt State.

2001: Attended Azusa Pacific and worked out with the team but did not play in any games while redshirting the season.

FRESNO STATE: Was a member of Fresno State's 2000 team but did not play in any games.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity football for head coach Dave Barton at Fresno (Calif.) Christian High School … An excellent athlete, played both quarterback and linebacker … Also played 3 seasons of baseball … Served as ASB president.
