THIS YEAR: Freshman Ethan Rickerd joins the Azusa Pacific football program as a wide receiver after graduating from Paso Robles High School. The 6-foot, 170-pound freshman will compete in both football and track and field for the Cougars.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Paso Robles High School in Paso Robles, Calif., in 2026... played wide receiver under head coach Mathew Carrol from 2024–26... served as a team captain in 2024... caught eight passes for 100 yards during his senior season... averaged 12.5 yards per reception with a long catch of 15 yards... named the team’s Offensive MVP as a freshman and sophomore... helped the Bearcats post records of 9-1 in 2022 and 8-2 in 2023... recognized as the team’s offensive leader as a senior and helped Paso Robles make a CIF playoff run... earned Principal’s Honor Roll recognition and was named a 4.0 GPA athlete... competed in the pole vault under head coach Cody Wilshewson from 2023–26.

PERSONAL: Born Jun. 30, 2008, in Templeton, Calif. ... son of Smokey and Kaye Dee Rickerd... has one brother (Dakota)... majoring in kinesiology with a minor in Bible... plans to become a physical therapist or athletic trainer... enjoys hunting, fishing, thrifting, surfing, wakeboarding, spending time with friends and riding dirt bikes.
