THIS YEAR: Perhaps the biggest surprise of last season, Elisha Hall opens the 2002 season with a different set of expectations upon him … Will vie for a starting berth at tailback … Teams with Gray and Buys to give the Cougars quality depth in the backfield … Has good speed and may be used again on kick returns.

2001: A walk-on out of junior college, came on strong the second half of his 2001 junior season and registered some quality efforts … Returned a team-high 13 kickoffs, averaging 21.8 yards per return … Emerged as a tailback late in the season, collecting 41 yards on his final 8 carries of the campaign … Also tallied 3 tackles on special teams play.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons of football at Los Angeles Southwest College … The Cougars were a combined 13-7 during Hall’s 1999 and 2000 seasons.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played just 1 season of football at Frederick K. Price High in Los Angeles, leading the Knights to an 8-2 record as both a running back and defensive back … Named league MVP for his effort … Also lettered in track & field (long jump, triple jump and 400 meters).

PERSONAL: Born April 21, 1981, to Elisha (retired marine) and Annie Hall … Has 1 brother (Christopher) and a sister (Tanisha) … His wife, Joi, gave birth to the couple’s first child, Elisha Jr., on Aug. 24, during the Cougars’ 3-a-days … Majoring in computer information systems … Enjoys singing and tap-dancing.
