Biography

THIS YEAR: One of the fastest players in the NAIA, senior Dominique Degrammont patrols the secondary as a free safety … Doubles as a kick returner as well … Possibly the most gifted athlete on the team … Has great speed and body control … Could prove to be one of the most exciting players in the NAIA this year. 

2002: Started all 9 games played at free safety … Was tenth on the team with 31 tackles (15 solo), including 1 for loss … Was fifth in the NAIA in kickoff returns, averaging 26.5 yards on 13 returns, 1 of which he returned 87 yards for a TD (vs. San Diego) … Also had a 39-yard return vs. Humboldt State. 

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons for national power Long Beach City College, appearing in 21 games while leading the Vikings to a combined 16-5 record and the Mission Conference championship during his 1998 freshman season. 

BOISE STATE: Signed with Big West Conference member Boise State out of high school and redshirted the 1997 season before returning to Southern California. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-year varsity member of Tustin High School's football program, and was a key player on their 11-2 1996 team that advanced to the CIF semifinals … On offense tallied over 550 rushing yards on 50 carries and caught 17 balls for 270 yards … Also played in the Tiller secondary … Lettered in track & field as well … Named 1997 Orange County Athlete of the Year by the Orange County Register … Also named Tustin High Athlete of the Year. 

TRACK & FIELD: Is the current NAIA record-holder in the 110-meter high hurdles (13.74), tying Olympic gold medallist Rod Milborn's 1972 standard … Is a 2-time NAIA champion in the high hurdles, winning the indoor 60 meters and the outdoor 110 meters last year … Was a key member of Azusa Pacific's 2003 NAIA indoor national championship team … Has qualified the past 3 seasons for the U.S. Championships in the 110-meter high hurdles … Posted a personal-best 13.62 in the semifinals of 2002 U.S. Championships … In junior college at Long Beach City, was a 2-time state champion in the high hurdles, recording a school record 13.72 in 1999 … Was the state high school champ as a senior and finished fourth in the state meet as a sophomore and junior … Represented the country of Haiti in the 2003 Pan Am Games. 

PERSONAL: Born March 13, 1979, in Brooklyn, New York, to Haitian natives Guy (air conditioning technician) and Mona (nurse) Degrammont … Last name is pronounced DAY-gru-MON … Has 2 sisters (Kathy and Sheila) … Majoring in sociology with a minor in physical education.
