Biography

THIS YEAR: After proving to be a pleasant surprise last year, senior Craig Robbins returns to his natural position as a running back where he is expected to see plenty of time … Quick, strong and known for his hard hits ... Gives the Cougars a great physical presence. 

2005: Came to Azusa Pacific as a running back, but but early in his 2005 junior season made the switch to linebacker … Appeared in 8 games, all off the bench … Recorded 15 tackles, including 1 for a loss … Had an interception in his first game as a Cougar, picking off a pass at San Diego … Also recovered a fumble and returned it 14 yards vs. Western New Mexico to set up the game-clinching field goal midway through the fourth quarter … Registered a single-game season-high 6 tackles (2 solo) in the win over Willamette. 

NEW MEXICO STATE: Spent 3 semesters at NCAA Division I New Mexico State where he redshirted the 2004 season. 

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons of football for head coach John Featherstone at El Camino Community College in Torrance, Calif. … Was a 2-year running back for the state power Warriors. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Carson (Calif.) High where he earned 2 varsity letters each in football and baseball … As a 2001 senior, named All-Marine League first team and named the team’s offensive MVP. 

PERSONAL: Son of LaVerne Robbins … Has 1 sister (Myesha).
