Will Rodriguez is entering his first season as an assistant coach at Azusa Pacific, where he will serve as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.

Rodriguez brings over a decade of NFL experience to the collegiate level after serving 11 years with the Los Angeles Rams, including the last six as special teams analyst. With the Rams, he worked under John Fassel, assisting one of the most creative minds in the pro game for a special teams unit which consistently ranks among the top teams in the NFL in special teams.

During his time with the Rams, Rodriguez worked alongside Fassel to re-tool the kicking game with Pro Bowlers Greg Zuerlein, a kicker who played at the Division II level collegiately with Missouri Western, and four-time Pro Bowl punter Johnny Hekker out of Oregon State. In 2016, the Rams special teams unit set NFL records for punts downed inside the 20 (51) and single-season net punting average (46.0).

In his personnel role, Rodriguez scouted college football’s kick coverage players, while also grading all top specialists and returners.

Rodriguez graduated from Lindenwood (Mo.) University in 2006 with a degree in political science. A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Rodriguez and his wife Laura reside in Westlake Village with their two children: Lucia (7) and Caleb (5).
