Former University of Hawaii player Victor Santa Cruz is in his third season as the offensive coordinator at Azusa Pacific.
Santa Cruz, 31, also serves as the program's strength and conditioning coach and is certified by USA weightlifting.
Santa Cruz came to Azusa Pacific after spending 5 seasons as an assistant coach at El Camino High School in Oceanside, Calif., where he was the linebacker and special teams coach.
Additionally, he served as the San Diego County director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from 1999 to 2001.
Santa Cruz, who graduated from Hawaii in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in economics, was a 4-year linebacker for the Rainbows, appearing in 46 games during his career while collecting 139 tackles (83 solo).
A prep standout at Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, Calif., Santa Cruz was the Palomar League Defensive Player of the Year while collecting All-CIF honors during his 1989 senior campaign.
Prior to his coaching career, Santa Cruz worked in sales and marketing for Upper Deck International Trading Cards and the Sport Supply Group.
Victor and his wife, Jamie, live in Glendora with their son Victor, Jr. (2), and Izabella (born in February of 2003).
