TJ Woods

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Cougar great T.J. Woods is in his first year as an assistant coach on Peter Shinnick's staff. After enjoying a celebrated 2-year career on the Cougar offensive front, Woods begins a coaching career as an assistant to offensive line coach Jarret Myers.

Woods was a 2-year starter for Azusa Pacific, proving to be a vital force in a Cougar ground game that averaged over 4 yards a rush for 18 games. As a 2002 senior he was named NAIA All-American first team, becoming the first Cougar offensive lineman to receive first-team recognition since 1995. During his 15-game, 2-year career at Azusa Pacific, Woods did not allow a quarterback sac.

He came to Azusa Pacific after redshirting the 2000 season at Big 12 member Iowa State. He played 2 seasons at nearby Citrus Community College where he was a J.C Gridwire All-American and a 2-time All-Western States Conference pick.

Woods graduated from San Dimas (Calif.) High in 1998. As a senior he was named All-Valle Vista first team, while teaming with current Cougar assistant coach Joey Mastrosimone.

He plans to graduate from Azusa Pacific this fall with a bachelor's degree in business.
