Justin Riddle is entering his sixth season on Azusa Pacific’s coaching staff in 2017, serving as the director of recruiting and football operations. He also overseen the academic program since the spring of 2015, helping extend the Cougars’ streak to five consecutive GNAC academic team championships.
Riddle oversees the program’s overall recruiting efforts and serves as the program’s liaison with athletic department staff for compliance, strength and conditioning, equipment managers, and sports medicine. He also serves as the program’s NFL liaison, communicating with professional scouts and teams regarding potential prospects, and he helps coordinate the team’s academic success program. Other duties include travel operations and supervision of the football program’s student interns and graduate assistants.
In 2016, Riddle was one of three individuals selected to receive a scholarship from JumpForward to participate in the Director of Football Operations Clinic in Tampa, Florida.
Riddle joined Azusa Pacific in 2012, serving his first year as a defensive assistant with specific focus on working with cornerbacks. Prior to joining Azusa Pacific, he coached for five seasons at Tempe High School, where he was the junior varsity defensive coordinator.
Riddle graduated from Arizona State in 2009, majoring in family and human development with a minor in psychology. He completed a master’s degree in education, focused on education counseling, from Azusa Pacific in 2015.
Riddle and his wife Renee were married in 2015, and they reside in Monrovia.
