After 2 seasons on the high school level, Jarret Myers returns to the collegiate game as a first-year assistant on Peter Shinnick's staff. Myers will oversee the Cougars' offensive line.
For the past 2 seasons, Myers was the head coach at Workman High School in Industry, Calif., and led the Lobos to the CIF playoffs both seasons.
He arrived at Workman after 6 years on staff at Mount Whitney High in Visalia, located in the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley. While at Mount Whitney, Myers served 1 season as the junior varsity head coach and 5 seasons as an assistant on the varsity level.
Myers played 2 seasons at the University of Mary is Bismarck, N.D., now an NAIA power but a fledgling program when Myers played along the offensive line. He was a key member of Mary's first 2 winning teams - the 1991 squad that went 7-2 and the 1992 team that was 7-1-1.
Before heading to North Dakota, Myers played his first 2 collegiate seasons at the College of Sequoias where he was a 2-year starter as a center.
He prepped at Redwood High in Visalia and was a member of 2 West Yosemite League championship teams, including the 1987 CIF runner-up squad.
Myers graduated from Mary in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in math. He began his coaching career as a student assistant for the 1993 Mary team.
Currently teaching math at Northview High in Covina, Myers and his wife, Sheri, reside in Glendora with their 2 children, Madison (9) and Nicklaus (6).
