High School: Was a two sport athlete at Corona High School, competing in football and track & field... Was a thrower on the track & field team for one year on varsity... Lettered in football three times as an offensive and defensive lineman for head coach John Brandon... As a senior, was on the defensive all-Big 8 conference team... Was named the team's Most Valuable Lineman and Hardest Hitter.

Santa Ana College: Played for the Dons for two seasons as a defensive end... Captained the team for one year... Was named second team all-conference and led the team to a SoCal Bowl title... Repeated as second team all-conference as a sophomore and recorded 8.5 sacks with 14.0 tackles for loss.

UNLV: Played for the Rebels for one season as a defensive tackle.

Personal: Born on Oct. 21, 1994 to Richard and Lisa Marez in Huntington Beach, Calif. ... Father is a truck driver and mother is a business manager... Has one brother, Jarod... Is majoring in business and wants to work in law enforcement after time at Azusa Pacific... Enjoys playing Madden.
