THIS YEAR: Freshman cornerback Austin Abrahams is an excellent athlete who put his talents on display during a standout 2-way high school career ... A versatile athlete who played quarterback, defensive back and receiver in high school which gives him excellent football knowledge.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 varsity seasons of football for Head Coach Brendan Chambers at Valley Christian High in Cerritos, Calif. ... Competed at quarterback, defensive back and receiver and served as team captain as a senior ... Earned All-Ironwood League first team honors and was named team MVP as both a junior and senior. ... As a senior, completed 119-of-168 passes for 1,688 yards and 16 TDs while rushing for 375 yards and 16 touchdowns on 100 carries. ... Accounted for 32 of the Defenders’ 34 offensive TDs during the season … Also recorded 26 tackles, including 4 for loss, and an interception ... As a junior, passed for 586 yards and 8 TD, rushed for 173 yards and 4 TDs and caught 24 passes for 312 yards and 3 TDs ...
