THIS YEAR:  True sophomore Andrew Anderson brings youthful experience to both special teams and the Cougar offensive front … Will be prying for a more significant role this year … Noted for his strength and intelligence.

2017 (freshman):  Appeared in ten of the Cougars’ 11 games, primarily on special teams … Recorded a pair of tackles and returned one punt two yards in his first year in the program.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played three seasons of varsity football for Mike Moschetti at La Mirada (Calif.) High … Played both tight end and defensive end … As a 2016 senior, during the Matadors’ run to the CIF title game, played in nine games and recorded 13 receptions for 176 yards (13.5 avg.) and four TDs … Had a career-high four catches  in the CIF title game vs. Edison … As a 2015 junior, had two catches for 53 yards during La Mirada’s 13-3 campaign that finished with titles in CIF and state championship bowl games … On defense had 15 tackles, with two sacks, and a forced fumble … As a 2014 sophomore, appeared in six games and registered 11 tackles for the 10-2 Matadors.

PERSONAL:  Born June, 23, 1999, in Anaheim, Calif., to Scott and Miriam Anderson …Majoring in criminal justice … Would like to eventually go into the Secret Service or FBI … Enjoys snorkeling and fishing.
