2016 (sophomore): Returned to the game after a two-year layoff … Was hampered much of the season with nagging injuries … Appeared in six games, starting two, for the 9-3 Cougars who advanced to the NCAA playoffs … Rushed 207 yards on 51 carries (4.1 avg.) with five rushing TDs, second best on the team … Had three receptions out of the backfield for 40 yards and another TD … Best showing came in the third game of the season, a 27-17 win at Central Washington, in which he rushed for 93 yards on 20 carries (4.7 avg.) with a TD that put the Cougars up 6-0 early in the game … Then had a 45-yard TD catch that put the Cougars up for good at 20-17 with 4:02 left in the game … Rushed for another 55 yards on nine carries in a 45-13 win over Humboldt State.
BOISE STATE: As a 2013 true freshman at Boise State, broke through a deep field of running backs to appear in the Broncos’ first five games, starting one (vs. Air Force), before suffering a season-ending injury … Rushed for 234 yards on 50 carries (4.7 avg.), scoring two TDs … Also had five receptions for 19 yards … In his collegiate debut, rushed for 49 yards on 10 carries vs. Washington … Rushed for career-high 92 yards on 18 carries (5.1 avg.) with two second-half TDs (35 and 2 yards) in a 41-40 loss at Fresno State … Played for head coach Chris Peterson.
HIGH SCHOOL: As a 2012 senior at Eastlake High in Chula Vista, Calif., named first-team all-state, All-CIF San Diego Section, and All-Metro Mesa League after rushing for 1,855 yards on 218 carries (8.5 avg.) with 23 TDs for head coach John McFadden … Added seven receptions for 80 yards … Also played defense, recording 73 tackles (55 solo), an interception and 14 pass break-ups … Returned 13 punts for 166 yards (12.8 yards per return) … For the season, scored 24 touchdowns … Best game came in a 59-37 win over Grossmont in which he rushed for 275 yards on 22 carries with four TDs; caught one pass for 33 yards and tallied five tackles (all solo) with two pass deflections and an interception … Rushed 197 yards and three TDs on just 18 carries in a 28-10 win over Torrey Pines … As a 2011 junior, rushed 49 times for 242 yards with two TDs in an injury-shortened season … Played strong safety, tallying 70 tackles (55 solo), an interception and two pass deflections … Had offers from UCLA, Washington, Cincinnati and San Diego State.
