THIS YEAR: Junior Captain Sophia Emerson is a top returner for the Cougars with a wealth of experience, seeing action in 34 games across her freshman and sophomore year and tallying 2,372 minutes between center back and holding midfield ... Noted for precise long balls and a strong presence in the air.
2024: One of the bright young emerging stars of the Cougars, who has appeared in every game during her 2024 sophomore season, starting all but 4 ... Has tallied 3 goals in her young college career, and none was bigger than the game's lone goal tallied in APU's 1-0 victory over No. 11-ranked and previously undefeated Concordia ... Also scored a goal in APU's 2-0 win over Vanguard ... Played the full in 90 in 3 straight games vs. Hawaii-Hilo, Chaminade, and CUI, teams that were a combined 22-3-9 at the time.

Appeared in 62 games during her 4-year career for a Claremont program that went 74-13-4 on the field in that time ... Was a member of 3 Palomares League championship teams ... Named team MVP as a 2023 senior despite not scoring a goal all season but leading a defense that surrendered just 17 goals in 26 games and registered 14 shutouts ... That same team posted a 19-5-2 record and advanced to teh CIF Southern Section quarterfinals ... Twice named All-Palomares League, including first-team recognition as a 2021 sophomore when she scored 2 goals, the only counters of her prep career ...
