2018 (junior): Named first-team All-PacWest for second consecutive year... Appeared in all 52 games and started 50 of them, 43 behind the plate and seven as the designated hitter… He was second on the team in batting average (min. 100 at-bats) while posting a .339 average, was third on the team in RBI with 42 and also third in runs scored with 49… was tied for second on the team in doubles with 13, was second on the team in on-base percentage with a .471 average (min. 100 at-bats)... lead the team in walks with 41, also had eight home runs and racked up 60 total hits on the season… In a 10-2 win over Academy of Art (March 16), Gomez went 3-for-5 with two home runs and racked up 5 RBI… In a 15-5 win over Biola (April 28), went 4-for-5 with four base hits and knocked in four runs while also scoring twice.
2017 (sophomore): Named first-team All-PacWest … Named to the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings All-Region second-team… Started in 50 of the Cougars 54 games behind the plate during the 2017 season… Posted a .314 Batting Average… Hit seven homeruns and drove in 35 RBI.... Added 10 doubles on the year… Led the Cougars with 29 base on balls… During a 7-3 win over San Francisco State (February 8), went 2-for-4 with a homerun, driving in three RBI… During a 12-2 win over Academy of the Art (April 1), went 3-for-5 with a homerun, driving in a season high four RBI… During a 3-1 win over California Baptist (May 18), went 2-for-4 with a homerun and one RBI
2016 (freshman): Made significant contributions as a true freshman, at the dish and behind it defensively…appeared in 47 games while making 42 starts…hit .285 with 16 extra base hits, including six homeruns while reaching base at a .352 clip…defensively posted the second lowest stolen base against percentage of regular catchers, allowing just 13-of-26 runners to successful swipe a bag ... Named the PacWest Player of the Week on May 2
High School: Played three seasons of varsity baseball at Bonita High School under head coach John Knott, who was an all-American at Azusa Pacific in 1999... Was a catcher and first baseman... Was named first-team all-Palomares League all three years and first team all-CIF as a senior... As a sophomore, had a .321 batting average with 20 RBIs and two home runs... As a junior, had a team-best .425 batting average with nine extra-base hits... Tallied a team-best 43 hits as a senior with 29 RBIs and eight doubles... Was named to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune all-star team and second team all-area.
