THIS YEAR:  Azusa Pacific's top returning pitcher, senior Gavino Rosales is the anchor of the Cougar staff ... Should be among the PacWest's best and could push for postseason honors ... Is a workhorse and should eat up innings ... Noted as a smart and crafty pitcher.

2024:  In his first year at Azusa Pacific, appeared in 14 games, starting 12 ... Fashioned a 5-6 record with an 8.67 ERA ... Got off to a rough start, by allowing 20 earned runs in his first 7.2 innings of work, and then settled in to establish himself as the Cougars' go-to pitcher ... Put together a 5-game stretch in which he allowed just 4 earned runs in 24 innings (1.50 ERA) in which he struck out 15 ... Best outing came in a 7-inning, complete-game 2-hit effort in which he shut out Concordia in a 10-0 Cougar win ... Also collected a complete-game victory over Hawaii-Hilo, working 7 innings of 5-hit pitching, allowing just 1 run while striking out 8 and walking none in a 7-1 Cougar win.

JUNIOR COLLEGE:  Played his 2023 sophomore season at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif. ... Fashioned an outstanding 2023 sophomore season in which he went 6-0 on the mound in a team-leading 82.2 innings of work with a 4.14 ERA and 74 strikeouts ... Fired 7 innings of 5-hit shutout baseball with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in an 11-5 Cougar victory over Hancock ... Spent his 2022 freshman campaign at LA Mission in Sylmar, Calif., where he recorded a 4-4 record with a 3.39 ERA in 61 innings of work, which included 41 strikeouts ... In his first college start, fired 6 innings of 3-hit shutout baseball with 9 strikeouts to pick up the win in the Eagles' 6-2 victory over Compton.

HIGH SCHOOL:   Played 3 years of varsity baseball for Head Coach Matt Mowry at Birmingham High in Lake Balboa, Calif. ... Was a pitcher and shortstop for the Patriots ... Helped lead Birmingham to the 2018 and 2019 LA City Open Division championship ... Named to the 2019 LA City All-Star team and was picked to start the opening game against the Miami all-stars.
