Biography

2023: Named Academic All-PacWest… Saw action in 11 games, starting five for the Cougars in his final season… Collected two hits with two runs scored… Defensively, had 36 putouts with five assists and threw out two runners behind the dish… Had a season-high 11 putouts in a victory at Concordia. 

2022: Earned Academic All-PacWest distinction... Appeared in eight games for the Cougars this season… Recorded one hit, with one double and one RBI… Over 50 chances behind-the-dish, he recorded 41 putouts and eight assists (.980 FLD%). 

2021 (Freshman): Appeared in 16 games primarily as the Cougars back-up catcher, started three times... went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI against Hawaii Hilo in PacWest AQ pod (May 22).

2020 (COVID-shortened season): Appeared in four games off the bench for the Cougars... Genna’s first collegiate hit was an RBI double in the 16-3 win against Hawai’i Pacific (February 29)... Finished the season with a perfect .1000 fielding percentage behind the plate in his four chances and was a part of one double play.

2019 (Redshirt): Redshirt season. Did not appear in any games but practiced with the team all season.

High School: Graduated from South Hills High School… Played three seasons of varsity baseball for coach Darren Murphy… Was a team captain for his senior season… Played in 75 games in high school and had a career batting average of .246.

Personal: Born September 27, 1999 in Whittier, Calif… Son of Daniel and Mimi… Has one sister Megan… Studying biology… Interested in becoming a dentist.
