2026 (Junior): Velo joins the Azusa Pacific program as a battle-tested backstop from the California junior college ranks. A physical catcher known for his leadership and defensive reliability, he looks to bolster the Cougars' depth behind the plate throughout the 2026 campaign.

Prior to APU (San Joaquin Delta College)

• 2025 (Sophomore): Appeared in 29 games for the Mustangs, serving as a key veteran presence. He posted a .378 batting average and a .457 on-base percentage, showcasing elite plate discipline and contact skills. Earned 2nd Team All-Big 8 Conference honors

• 2024 (Freshman):  In limited action, he recorded a .350 on-base percentage and delivered five RBIs, helping Delta to a deep postseason run that included wins over Sacramento City and West Valley.

High School A standout performer at Saint Mary’s High School in Stockton under coach Randy Ortega.

• Prep Accolades: Named 2nd Team All-Conference during his tenure with the Rams.

• Senior Season (2022): Batted .315 with four home runs and 26 RBIs across 29 games. He was a statistical leader in the Sac-Joaquin Section for home runs and led the Rams to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 Playoffs.

• Scouting Profile: Rated by Prep Baseball Report as a high-motor catcher with a 2.09–2.21 pop time and a 72 mph arm from behind the dish. Scouts noted his "compact proportions" and "strong soft hands," praising the energy he brings to the position.

• Club: Played for the California Armada and was a Club All-Star under coach JD Hardcastle.
