Biography

2025: One of two Cougar legacy players on the roster, Hagerty made an immediate impact as a two-way threat in his debut season after transferring from Mt. SAC. On the mound, he emerged as a vital arm in the rotation, making nine appearances (eight starts) and logging 29.1 innings. He showcased swing-and-miss stuff by striking out 20 batters, including a season-high five strikeouts in a win against Hawai'i Hilo.

Prior to APU
During his collegiate and high school career, Hagerty established a reputation as a high-ceiling dual-threat athlete:

  • Mt. SAC Success: Played two seasons for former APU great John Knott. As a 2024 sophomore, he went 4-0 on the mound with 39 strikeouts in 31.1 innings while batting an elite .396 with 21 RBIs.

  • JUCO Postseason: Was instrumental in the CCCAA Southern California regional playoffs, going 4-for-5 with an RBI in a high-stakes matchup against Palomar.

  • Mt. SAC Freshman Year: Batted .284 and finished the season on a tear, hitting safely in 13 of the final 14 games.

  • High School Honors: A two-year varsity standout at Chino Hills High School, leading the Huskies to a 19-10 record and the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs as a junior.

  • Club Experience: Competed for three seasons with JG Baseball Academy under coach James Matt.

Notable Performances In April 2024 at Mt. SAC, Hagerty delivered a masterpiece against LA Harbor, tossing 7.0 shutout innings of two-hit baseball while striking out eight batters in an 8-0 victory.

Personal Born on May 14, 2004, Blake is a legacy athlete whose father, Brian Hagerty, was an All-GSAC pitcher for the Cougars in the mid-90s. He has an older brother, Tyler, and is majoring in Psychology with long-term goals of entering law enforcement.

Fun Fact: One of the few true two-way players in the conference, frequently appearing in the starting rotation and the outfield.
