THIS YEAR:  One of 2 Cougar legacy players to dot the 2025 APU roster (Antonio Lujan is the other), junior college transfer Blake Hagerty figures in the mix of pitchers vying for key roles in a rebuilt pitching staff ... Has a quality bat that gives him a place in the Cougar line-up and outfield.

MT. SAC:  Played 2 seasons as a pitcher and outfielder for former APU great and Head Coach John Knott at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. ... As a 2024 sophomore, was 4-0 on the mound with a 4.60 ERA, striking out 39 in 31.1 innings of work ... At the plate, batted .396 (36-for-91) with a home run and 21 RBIs in 40 games ... On the mound, his best outing a 2-hit effort over 7 innings, striking out 8 and walk just 2 in an 8-0 Mountie victory over LA Harbor ... At the plate, ended the season by hitting safely in 6 of the Mounties' final 7 games, going 14-for-28 (.500), which included a 4-for-5 effort with an RBI and run scored in the second round of the CCCAA Southern California regional playoffs vs. Palomar ... Helped lead Mt. SAC to a 30-15 record and a second-place finish in the South Coast Conference ... As a 2023 freshman, batted .284 with a home, 5 doubles, and 20 RBIs in 31 games for the 19-21 Mounties ... Made 5 appearances on the mound, starting 1, finishing with an 0-1 record in 8.1 innings of work ... Made his first collegiate start as a pitcher on March 7, working 3 innings of 1-hit baseball in a 6-0 Mountie victory at Santa Barbara City ... At the plate, came on strong over the last half of the season, hitting safely in 13 of the Mounties' final 14 games, batting .380 (19-for-50) wit
h 5 doubles and 17 RBIs ... His 2-run home run, the first of his college career, ignited a Mountie comeback in Mt. SAC's 6-5 win over El Camino on April 25.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 2 seasons of varsity baseball for Head Coach Joe Verplanke at Chino Hills (Calif.) High ... As a 2021 junior, helped lead the Huskies to a 19-10 record and the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs ... Also played 3 seasons of travel ball for coach James Matt of the JG Baseball Academy.

PERSONAL:  Born May 14, 2004, in Fullerton, Calif. ... Parents are Brian and Michele Hagerty ... His father was a pitcher for APU during the 1994 and 1995 seasons, posting a 16-5 won-loss record over his career with a 2.78 ERA in 178 innings of work with 128 strikeouts, leading the Cougars to a Golden State Athletic Conference championship when he was named All-GSAC first team in 1995 ... Has an older brother (Tyler) ... Majoring in Psychology ... Would like to eventually go into law enforcement.
