Biography

THIS YEAR:  Redshirt sophomore Aeden Alexander is set to press for playing time in the Cougar infielder after spending the past 2 seasons practicing with the Cougars .... Showed well in limited opportunities in the past and has gained the confidence of the Cougar coaching staff that he is ready to be used more frequently this year.

2024:  Came off the bench in 4 games during his 2024 redshirt freshman season and looked good in every instance ... Had 2 hits, both doubles, in 3 plate appearances ... Had a sixth-inning lead-off pinch-hit double down the left-field line in the Cougars' 9-2 PacWest win over Biola (March 16) for his first collegiate hit ... A month later, in a loss to Westmont, lined a 2-out pinch-hit double again down the left field line for his first RBI.

2003:  Redshirtted his first season at Azusa Pacific while attending classes.

HIGH SCHOOL: Split his high school career between a pair Southern California prep powerhouses, spending his first 2 year playing for Head Coach Darren Murphy at South Hills High in West Covina, and the next 2 years for Head Coach Don Barbara at St. John Bosco High in Bellflower ...  Over the course of his 2021 junior and 2022 senior seasons, appeared in 41 games at St. John Bosco, batting .225 with 6 doubles and 8 RBIs, committing 10 errors in 67 fielding chances ... Opened his prep career at South Hills where he played in 28 games during his 2019 freshman and COVID-shortened 2020 sophomore campaigns ... Batted .256 (20-for-78) in that time with 16 RBIs, a double and a triple ... Played in 20 games as a freshman, helping lead the Huskies to an 18-9 record, a Hacienda League title (12-3), and the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs ... Was batting .391 (9-for-28) as a sophomore, 8 games into the 2020 campaign when it was canceled by COVID.

PERSONAL:   Born Oct. 9, 2003, in Running Springs, Calif. ... Parents are Jeff Alexander and Jenny Spikes ... His cousin, Nolan Sheridan, received conference recognition as a pitcher at San Francisco State in 2014 ... Majoring in Finance ... Wants to stay involved with baseball from a business angle when playing days are done.
