2025: Hernandez made seven appearances in his debut season with the Cougars, logging 8.2 innings of work. The freshman right-hander struck out eight batters, maintaining a strikeout-per-nine ratio of 8.31. He demonstrated early signs of effectiveness on the mound, holding opponents to a .267 batting average against and finishing the season with a 1.27 WHIP.

Hernandez joined Azusa Pacific following a dominant career at La Salle Prep, where he was a primary anchor for the Lancers' pitching staff under the direction of the coaching staff in Pasadena.

• Senior Season Success: As a senior in 2024, Hernandez was one of the most effective pitchers in the Southern Section, posting a stellar 0.98 ERA across 71.1 innings of work.

• Strikeout Artist: He recorded 80 strikeouts during his senior campaign, consistently overmatching hitters in the Del Rey League.

• Win-Loss Record: Finished his final prep season with a 7-4 record, leading his team to the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs.

• Postseason Performance: Delivered a masterpiece in the first round of the 2024 CIF playoffs, tossing a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts to lead La Salle to an 8-0 victory over El Rancho.

Personal Born in Whittier, California, he is majoring in Finance and chose Azusa Pacific for its strong academic reputation and the opportunity to compete in the PacWest.

Fun Fact: Was ranked in the top 125 pitchers in the state of California for ERA during his senior high school season.
