THIS YEAR:  A graduate transfer from Kent State, Brynn Santos gives the Cougars great depth and experience in the sprints … A well-conditioned athlete who has the endurance to run multiple sprint races in a single meet … Could prove to be a key factor in the Cougars’ quest for a PacWest crown.

KENT STATE:  Ran 3 seasons of track & field for Head Coach Bill Lawson at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, serving as a team captain during her 2020 senior season … In her 4 seasons with the Golden Flashes, clocked career bests of 7.90 in the 60m, 12.46 in the 100m, 25.54 in the 200m, and 59.01 in the 400m … Was a 4-time Mid-American Conference All-Academic honoree.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Ran 4 seasons of track & field and another in cross country at Warren Township HIgh in Gurnee, Ill. … Competed in 3 Illinois state championship meets as a member of Warren Township’s 4x100-meter relay team … Also qualified for state championships  in the 4x400-meter relay once … Teamed with her sister, Autumn, and Brittny Ellis (U. of Miami) to form one of the best sprinting trios in all of Illinois … Helped lead the Blue Devils to a second-place finish at the state 3A championship as a 2015 junior … Graduated from Warren Township in 2016 with the third-best time in the Blue Devil history in the 100m (12.73) and fifth-best in the 200m (26.40) … Was a 3-year team captain. 

PERSONAL:  Born Aug. 6, 1998, in Evanston, Ill., to Aaron (personal trainer) and Kym (nutrition coach) Santos … Has an older sister, Autumn, who was a sprinter at Minnesota State … Working on her MBA at Azusa Pacific … Graduated from Kent State with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration … Wants to go into sports marketing.
