THIS YEAR: One of 5 returnees from the Cougars’ distance program, freshman Olivia Segura is hoping to parlay an abbreviated 2020 campaign into a solid second season at Azusa Pacific in which she emerges as a key contributor in the longer distance runs.
2020 (freshman): Appeared in just one meet before the season was shut down due to COVID-19 … Ran an 11:21.99 in the 3000 meters at the Beach Opener at Long Beach State.
CROSS COUNTRY: Appeared in 4 meets for Azusa Pacific during the 2019 season … Recorded a 6K best of 24:37.7 at the NCAA Division II West Regional … Had a 24.49.5 to finish 66th at the PacWest Championships in Fullerton, Calif.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ran 4 seasons of cross country and track & field for head coach Erik Kluznik at Henry Sibley High in Mendota Heights, Minn. … Was a 4-time All-Metro East Conference honoree in cross country … In track & field ran legs on school-record relays in the distance medley and 4x800 meters … Registered personal bests of 2:27.40 in the 800 meters and 5:34.81 in the 1600 … As a 2016 sophomore, clocked an 11:38.96 in the 3200 to finish third at the Metro East Conference championship meet.
