2024: Was named to the Academic All-PacWest team with a 3.96 GPA… Played two singles matches at No. 6 singles and went 1-1… Won against Colorado Mesa against Jorge Abreu 7-5, 4-6, 10-7.
2023: Earned Academic All-PacWest honors with a 3.95 GPA… Played one singles match against Fresno Pacific at No. 6 singles.
2022: Redshirted the 2022 season while taking classes at Azusa Pacific.
2021: As a true freshman, competed in one singles match against Colorado Mesa (March 6)... Secured the victory against Thiago Nejm 8-7(6) in his first career match in the Cougars’ 6-1 victory.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years of varsity tennis at Buchanan HS under head coach Mike Marini… Captained the team for two years… Was named to the first team All-TRAC in each of his first three seasons… Senior year season was canceled in 2020.
PERSONAL: Born on July 16, 2001, in Cape Town, South Africa, to Henk and Annemi du Plessis… Has one younger brother, Cilliers… Studying business finance… Desires to work in business and do farming on the side… Enjoys soccer, CFB, basketball, rugby and spending time with family.
