                        THIS YEAR: The hard-working Colton Cornfoot is looking to close out his college career by making a strong impact on the Cougar fortunes … Excellent athlete who brings good size to his play … Strong defender and a good outside shooter … Can play the wing or small forward and still mix it up in the key … Will battle for a starting role throughout the year.
2005: Had mixed-results during an injury-riddled 2004 junior season in which he underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees … Appeared in 28 games, starting 16 until the second scope in mid-February bumped him off the court for a month … Averaged 5.7 points overall but showed signs of his potential in early GSAC play, averaging 10.1 points and 3.6 assists over the course of 7 games and a month of play … Scored a season-high 14 points vs. The Master’s … Tallied 13 points in 19 minutes vs. No. 1-ranked and defending national champ Mountain State … Blocked 2 shots at The Master’s, the second sparking an 8-run that go Azusa Pacific back into the game (Cougars eventually won in OT) … Twice dished out a personal-high of 7 assists … In 2 other games buried a trio of treys … Missed 11 games because of injury, including 9 late in the regular season and on into the postseason but returned in time to play in all 5 games of the NAIA Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Was a 2-year starter at West Valley Community College in Saratoga, Calif. … As a 2004 sophomore was named All-Coast Conference and twice named all-tourney … As a 2003 freshman, started for the 25-9 Vikings who advanced to the NorCal finals … Averaged 5.5 rebounds.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-year starter at Turlock (Calif.) High … Was a 2-time All-Central Coast Conference selection, earning first team honors as a 2001 junior … As a 2002 senior, was all-district first team and MVP of the county all-star game.
PERSONAL: Born April 15, 1983, in Turlock, Calif., to Doug (teacher) and Becky (administrative assistant) Cornfoot … Has a younger sister (Ellie) … His father, who is the boys’ basketball head coach at Delhi (Calif.)
