Biography
THIS YEAR: One of 3 returning starters, senior forward Micah Sullivan is looking to top a fine 1997 season . . . Was a steadying influence in the post, utilizing his quickness around the basket and his ability to hit the outside jump-shot . . . A work-horse, his play will be pivotal for the team’s success.
ODELL SAYS: "Micah creates difficulty for our opponents, as he is an offensive threat in close and away from the basket. He is probably our best interior defender. We expect him to also rebound for us."
1997: Averaged 8.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in 37 games as a 1997 junior . . . Only player to score in every game . . . Scored season-high 18 points in a victory at Cal State San Bernardino . . . Scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in season finale vs. Central Washington . . . Led big men in minutes played, averaging just over 27 a contest . . . 7 times made 2 from beyond the 3 point arc.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons for Mark Poth at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Wash. . . . As a 1996 sophomore and team captain., averaged 17.8 points and 8.2 rebounds while canning 39 treys in 101 attempts (.386) . . Named all-conference first team in the Eastern Region of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges . . . Was also first runner-up MVP in the Eastern Region . . . Scored a career-high 32 vs. Blue Mountain CC . . . Tallied 8 double doubles, including a 20-point, 14-rebound effort vs. Pierce CC . . . Had 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds vs. Portland CC . . . As a 1995 sophomore, averaged 11.4 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds for the 20-7 Vikings. . . HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered 4 years in basketball and track (discus and javelin) at Ellensburg (Wash.) High . . . Was a 3-time team MVP and All-Mid Valley Conference pick . . . Named conference MVP and all-state second team as a 1994 senior while leading the Bulldogs to 19-3 record . . . As a 1993 junior averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds.
PERSONAL: Born April 4, 1976 in Seattle, Wash. . . . Majoring in physical education and wants to go into physical therapy . . . Micah’s step-father Ken Sauby graduated from Azusa Pacific in 1979.
