THIS YEAR: An unsung hero during the Cougars’ chase to a fourth straight GSAC crown last year, senior forward Tristan King is an outstanding player to whom defenses often forget to pay attention ... Excellent athlete with a terrific first-step and leaping ability ... Can shoot from the perimeter but is strong enough to be quite effective around the basket ... Has an outstanding all-around game and could push for postseason honors.

2006: Appeared in all 36 games for Azusa Pacific during his 2006 junior season, starting 22, including the final 21 in a row ... Was fourth on the team in scoring (9.6 avg.) and assists (2.0 avg.) ... As a starter, averaged 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists ... Enjoyed the pressure of a big game, averaging over 12 points and 5 rebounds in games vs. Mountain State, Vanguard, Biola and Concordia ... Finished the season quite strong, averaging 16.3 points during the NAIA Championship Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. ... Tallied career-highs 25 points and 10 rebounds in the NAIA quarterfinal game vs. Robert Morris (Ill.) ... City College … As a 2005 sophomore named all-state first team and All-Coast Conference South first team after averaging 17.6 points and 6 rebounds for the 22-7 Jaguars who advanced to the state regional finals … Shot 81% from the charity stripe, making a conference-leading 134 free throws (out of 166) … Was fourth in conference in 3-point shooting (.413/38-for-92) … Was SJCC’s leading scorer in 15 of 29 games, scoring 25 or more points in 5 different games, including a career-high 29 in a victory over Monterey Peninsula … As a 2004 freshman averaged 10 points and 4 rebounds … Twice scored a season-high 21 points.
